Pragma Homes Achieved Homestar Airtightness Simply and Cost-Effectively with AeroBarrier. Independently tested by BXG
Pragma Homes achieved NZGBC Homestar airtightness targets using the AeroBarrier system, without changing their existing construction methods.
Pragma Homes demonstrates how a practical and highly cost-effective airsealing approach was used within its Hamilton development to meet Homestar requirements. Typical airsealing costs for the units were in the range of $3,000–$4,000 per home – a fraction of the cost of alternative systems.
Building Excellence Group (BXG), a leading energy modelling and building performance specialist, worked alongside the New Zealand Green Building Council to support Pragma in meeting Homestar requirements. BXG carried out independent post-seal blower door testing, to verify the final airtightness results.
